Galley Recruitment Consultant
Courteney joined Crew and Concierge a few months ago as a resourcer for our interior department. Very quickly she was promoted to take over and head up our Chefs division.
She started a few years ago recruiting for the healthcare sector and her previous experience shone through. We are delighted she has been able to adapt some of those skills and bring them to her new role.
She is enjoying the personal approach we take when recruiting for the yachting sector. She said "learning about the Chef's and their backgrounds is fascinating, each and every one of them has come to be a Chef from starting out in such varied pathways. Listening to them about the different types of training, whether that is 4 years in culinary college or on-the-job training from working at the local pub as a young person to being self-taught is very interesting". She also loves to hear about their favourite things to cook as well as listening to some of the other repertoires they have had to adapt to over the years.
Courteney has soon learned that the role of the Chef is very important onboard. Not only to be able to keep the owner and guests happy but also to keep several crews appetites satisfied. She is learning daily about dietary requirements and various methods of cooking. She feels the more Chefs she speaks to the better her knowledge can get. So please do get in contact and set up an interview with Courts. She is excited to be able to try and find you a role that suits you.
In her spare time, she loves socialising with her friends and family, staying active in the gym, and taking time to travel. She is a keen cook herself and is often in the kitchen cooking for everyone.
